The establishment of a national level, sustainable Counter-IED capability is a challenging but vital task. It involves a great deal of planning and resourcing for policy and doctrine development through to the provision of equipment provision and training needs analysis. Many nations approach C-IED solutions in separate elements, but this does not support the ability to tackle terrorist threats at their very foundation and can destroy the integrity of a seemingly robust capability.
